The area regio³ Pillerseetal-Leukental-Leogang
The LEADER area Pillerseetal-Leogang unites 13 townships and is located in Salzburg and Tyrol. The LAG (Leader Action Group) was founded in 1996 and looks back to strong experience and superb projects.
Involved townships: Aurach bei Kitzbühel, Fieberbrunn, Hochfilzen, Jochberg, Kirchdorf in Tirol, Kitzbühel, Oberndorf in Tirol, Reith bei Kitzbühel, St. Jakob in Haus, St. Johann in Tirol, St. Ulrich am Pillersee, Waidring and Leogang
Habitants: about 41.000 in an area of 731,2 km² (55,3 habitants/km²)
Economy: about 700 companies with 4.300employees; about 450 agricultural companies (55 % sideliner); TOP companies: Gebro Pharma GmbH, Nothegger Logistik, Großtischlerei Kienpointner, Vital Schuhe GmbH as well as the mountain railways and numerous hotels.
Tourism: area Pillerseetal and Leogang with about 1.400.000 overnight-stays per year.

Development Strategy
The local development strategy of the region regio³ Pillerseetal-Leukental-Leogang is organised in four subtopics:
- rural value
- natural ressources
- common goods and functions
- growth and employment
The first three topics are covered by the funding programme Leader within the ELER programme of rural development. Topic four within the programme "investments in growth and emplyment" of the euopean fond for regional development (EFRE).
Projects that are funded by the regional management must pay a contribution to the defined goals.
