While the current Leader project is intended to prevent consequential damage caused by an adequate roof renovation, the medium-term goal is to achieve the preservation of the listed building by implementing further projects. In the long term, an increased tourist use of the defense system will also be promoted.

Ziel des Projekts „Zeitzeugen Ischgl Unvergessen“ ist neben der Produktion von 20 Interviews auch der Aufbau eines öffentlich zugänglichen Onlineportals Homepage Gemeinde mit Link, mit welchen alle Interviews abgerufen werden können. Durch die audiovisuelle Darstellung der einzelnen Interviews im Onlinevideoportal wird die gesammelte Erinnerung bzw. Geschichte des Dorfes lebendig erhalten und für nachfolgende Generationen aufbewahrt. Durch die Teilnahme der Bevölkerung verspricht man sich einen regen Austausch von Gesagtem im Dorf und so stellt dieses Projekt auch eine positive Initiative für die Kommunikation im Dorf Ischgl dar. Für In und Ausländische Gäste bringt es den Mehrwert, neben den Pisten und Seilbahnen die traditionelle Seite Ischgls weiterzugeben, zeigen was vor 60 Jahren los war.

Diese 6 Gemeinden liegen im oberen Tiroler Inntal und im Kaunertal, eingebettet in der Hochgebirgslandschaft der Ötztaler Alpen. Dieser Gebirgsraum wird geprägt durch eine vielfältige Kultur- und Naturlandschaft und wurde im Jahr 2003 als Naturpark ausgezeichnet (Naturpark Kaunergrat).
